Jason's entire body tenses, palms itching for the weight of a firearm, but he doesn't draw. He likes to insist that Bruce hadn't taught him much, but he had taught him stillness, even if Jason never mastered it under his direction. Even so, stock still but for his breathing, Jason feels as if he's vibrating, the words coming clipped when he speaks them.
