Some sounds cause a primal response, no matter what you think you're used to. That screech is one, and Sarah starts as her heart leaps in her chest. Thought takes longer, but what her brain tells her is not so different from her reflexive response. Time to be somewhere not here. Especially since it sounds like there's a group of whatever this little guy with the big voice is, and off in the direction Sarah had come from.
"Sorry, all out." That was always Becker's responsibility. Thought of Becker reminds Sarah she does have something which might be of use, but she's not ready to hand it over to a complete stranger just yet.
"Can you get up the tree?" she asks. "If it's feeling threatened, leaving it be might be the best thing we can do until it leaves."
